Message to NAMS Families 9/26/21

Good Evening NAMS Families,

I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones well. Believe it or not, we are entering Week 5 of the school year. Routines are being reestablished, new friendships are being made, rapport between teachers and students are being built, and learning is taking place for all students every day.

Below you will find important information and reminders.

School Picture Day Orders

If you did not already order school pictures and want to do so, a new school key code will be provided to you once images are processed, printed, and available online. A new key code is issued for each student who saw the camera. Each key code is unique to the student.

A proof sheet for each student with his/her/their image and new unique code is created and in the package shipped to school with pictures and service items. If a pre-order was placed, it is shipped directly to the address listed on the order and will include the proof sheet.

Please expect up to 4 weeks for pictures to arrive.

Makeup Picture Day is scheduled for Thursday, November 4, 2021 for students and staff who wish to have their picture retaken or did not have their picture taken on September 23, 2021.

Two Requests

  1. Please remind your child(ren) that lunch is free to all students. This is only for 1 lunch. If they wish to get a second lunch, their POS account will be charged.

  1. We have had many parents/guardians come to NAMS to dismiss their child(ren) without having notified the main office in advance. Below are the NAMS dismissal protocols we are asking everyone to follow. As you will read below, “If neither a note is brought to the main office or a dismissal email is sent, a parent/guardian must pick his/her/their child up at the office and fill out a dismissal form. Unexpected dismissals may take additional time due to students being outside away from the building for lunch or outside classes.”

NAMS Dismissal Protocols

When it is necessary to be dismissed early for a doctor’s appointment or other personal business, the student must bring a note from the parent/guardian stating the reason and the time for early dismissal.  This note must be brought to the office before homeroom. Parents/Guardians may also email Lisa Hunter and Melissa Barron by 8:00 a.m. with the name of the student being dismissed, the reason for the dismissal, and the time of dismissal. Their emails are as follows: hunterl@northandoverpublicschools.com & barronm@northandoverpublicschools.com

If neither a note is brought to the main office or a dismissal email is sent, a parent/guardian must pick his/her/their child up at the office and fill out a dismissal form. Unexpected dismissals may take additional time due to students being outside away from the building for lunch or outside classes.

Due to bus line ups and congested traffic, we strongly discourage parents/guardians from dismissing their child after 1:45 p.m.

Sincerely,

Jorge Goncalves
