NAMS Message to Families 08/14/25

Good Afternoon NAMS Families,

I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones well. You may find the following message here, which can be translated into over 180 languages.

I hope that you continue to have some fun this summer before school begins on Tuesday, September 2, 2025! On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I am delighted to greet our incoming grade 6 students and our returning grades 7 & 8 students. Additionally, I would like to extend a very special welcome to students and families new to our community.

The entire NAMS community is looking forward to a great year of academic and personal growth, challenges, and accomplishments.  The middle school provides an environment that allows transition for the students as they move from elementary into high school years.  Our learning approach is to offer a balanced instructional program in a team setting that nurtures the development of responsible, thoughtful citizens for life in an increasingly interdependent global society.  By creating environments in which students are challenged to explore, to create, to make decisions, and to actively participate in and be accountable for their learning they will be better prepared for high school and beyond.

Below you will find some information regarding the start of the school year. You will be provided much more information at the end of next week.

What team is my child assigned to?

  • Students and families will receive their team assignment and supply lists via email at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
  • The PowerSchool Portal will be open to students and families sometime after Tuesday, August 19, 2025. After the portal is open, please know that student schedules are not complete. We are still in the process of updating schedules and balancing class sizes. The schedule you see in PowerSchool may not be the same schedule at the start of the school year.
  • Schedules will be completed by the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Lockers

All students are required to have a school issued lock on their lockers. Locks are available from students’ homeroom teachers and the main office for $9.00 beginning on the first day of school. Students will be provided help and support in using their locks and time to practice.

Sincerely,

Jorge Goncalves
