School Picture Day

We will schedule the Make-Up Picture Day about a month later. We will schedule the exact date after pictures arrive.
Wednesday, September 28th is an Early Release Day!
Students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28th.

Grade 8 - Thursday, October 6, 2022 @ 6:00 p.m.
All parents/guardians are asked to first meet in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. before meeting with their teams.

Maureen Crawford Hentz
I'm the mom of a 6th grader and an 8th grader at NAMS this year. This will be my third year of involvement with NAMS, having served as the co-president of our PTO (called NAMS PTAC). I'd like to expand my volunteer contribution by serving on the School Council in addition to PTAC this year. I think there are lots of synergies and I'd welcome the opportunity!
As a new parent to NAMS and returning to the area after 25 years, my interest lies in getting to know the NAMS community more intentionally and to hopefully allow my 30 years working in education to help contribute to NAMS as a vibrant and thriving community for my son and his peers. I am a graduate of MIT in Electrical Engineering and I have my Masters in Education Administration from Boston College. I was Director of Administration at a private K12 school, overseeing all the back-office functions and teaching math. I was previously Director of The Boston Education Collaborative at a nonprofit in Boston, tasked with understanding more broadly the landscape of education and helping to facilitate conversations amongst those who impact that landscape. My family is now returning to Brooks School, where my husband teaches and where we both worked 25 years ago. During my time at Brooks School, I worked in Admissions and facilitated the strategic thinking around its diversity initiatives, including establishing a permanent position of influence to monitor progress in reaching its diversity goals. I currently work for The Salvation Army as Assoc. Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Throughout my experiences, I’ve learned to be an excellent communicator and listener, prioritize relationships, and to engage and see everyone as assets in the process of growth and realizing a collective vision.
I have been proactively seeking a way to be more involved for a couple of years now. I have had some personal experiences dealing with the schools and the administration directly where I have seen some gaps where help is needed to be for the overall student body. There have been a few incidents that have directly impacted my kids and I would love to get involved and “get my hands dirty” and start being part of a solution with a direct focus towards diversity, equity and inclusion. I feel strongly that I would love to help be a bridge between parents, students and school staff as to what we can all do to help each individual student feel more accepted and seen no matter what there background, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation etc. I would love to help spread education to people that have difficulty explaining or understanding the importance of children feeling accepted in order to learn and thrive in a school environment.
Having a seventh grader and a child who will be attending NAMS in the near future, I would be interested in being more involved with the school and helping to shape their overall positive experiences at NAMS.
