NAMS Message to Families 9/30/22
Hello NAMS Families,
I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones well. It’s hard to believe that we have completed the 5th week of school this year! Our school is once again a vibrant learning community with students engaged in collaborative learning in our classrooms, socializing with old and new friends, and participating in a wide range of activities after school.
NAMS After School Activities - Fall Session Coming Soon!
Speaking of after school activities, we are in the process of finalizing a list of after school activities to offer our students free of charge for the fall. We are anticipating offering a wide range of clubs and activities that will be meeting once per week on different days of the week this fall for an 8 week session. We will finalize the list of activities, their description, their staff advisor, and the days that they will be meeting soon. We anticipate beginning the week of October 11th.
Parents/Guardians Make A Difference Newsletter
Each month, our district features a new newsletter for parents/guardians at the Pre-K level, elementary level, middle school level, and high school level. You may find all of the newsletters here. Please check out the middle school newsletter and its many resources, strategies, and suggestions.
MAP Testing Dates
Our NAMS students are scheduled to take the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessments during the next 2 weeks. MAP is an adaptive assessment that is designed to target a student’s academic performance. These tests are tailored to an individual’s current achievement level. This gives each student an opportunity to show what they know and can do. Because the computer adjusts the difficulty of the questions as the test progresses, each student takes a unique test. With this type of unique test, teachers are better able to measure individual student growth throughout the course of the school year and determine where each student may need additional instruction.
What do students need on the day of the assessment?
