Spring Play for 8th Graders
Student Leadership
Student Leadership is a student led organization that welcomes students in grades 6 - 8 to work together to promote: school spirit, positive school culture, inclusion of all students, and a stronger sense of empathy by supporting various charitable organizations. While some events and activities like the Fall Food Drive, Spring Spirit Week, and ongoing Courtyard Improvements, are annual, Student Leaders get to choose projects and activities in which they are interested - as long as they fall into one of our three initiatives: School Improvement, School Spirit and Service.
Regular (virtual or in-person) monthly meetings will be held for all members. Sub Committees meet more during particular projects and events; based on student schedules and availability.
This year's Student Leadership advisors are:
- Erien Gordon - Grade 6
- Jim Gosselin - Grade 7
- Rebecca Melnick - Grade 8
Yearbook
The yearbook is designed to highlight and commemorate each grade and their most memorable times at NAMS. A collection of student pictures, candids, faculty and most important events are included each year. The NAMS Yearbook Club is composed of students wishing to be yearbook photographers and/or be a part of the yearbook design. Yearbook photographers are asked to cover all aspects of student life – from classroom activities to after-school activities. The yearbook design staff helps with the layout of the yearbook and at the end of the year, organizes the yearbook distribution.
Yearbook is a great way to meet new friends and express yourself creatively, and each student's contribution to the yearbook can be seen come to fruition when the yearbook arrives in June!

After Hours Clubs/Activities Descriptions - Spring Session 2024
SNACK AND STUDY (Mondays or Thursdays) - If you want to complete your homework, do some studying, or get some extra help, this club is for you! Enjoy a snack (provided by the teacher) while you study too! Choose one or more days that work for you.
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS AND OTHER RETRO GAMES (Tuesdays) - Take a break from technology and step back in time to partake in some old-fashioned fun with friendly board games. Challenge a friend in Scrabble, Dominoes, Checkers, and more! Show off your trivia knowledge, or learn the locally popular card game, 45's. Participants are welcome to bring in their favorites, too! D&D participants must bring in their own boards and supplies.
ART CLUB (Mondays) - More art time after school?! Obviously this is a "yes please!" You might grab your sketchbook and fine tune your individual technique with some inktober sketching. You might dive into painting, or a craft. This club gives you an opportunity to explore art and craft materials beyond what is offered in the curriculum independently, or with friends.
MANI/PEDI CLUB (Tuesdays) - Pamper yourself once a week and give yourself or a friend a manicure and/or pedicure. Go home relaxed, looking and feeling great!
BASKETBALL (Tuesdays grades 7 and 8 OR Thursdays grade 6) - Come enjoy an hour of shooting hoops to unwind from your day! We can play full court, half court, Knockout, HORSE, or any other games that suit the group. All skill levels are welcome. Lace up your sneaks and join us for some fun!
CHESS CLUB/CARDS (Mondays) - Calling all Chess players! Bring your own chess set or use one provided by the school to play chess against your friends, or new people you may meet! Sharpen your game skills and maybe learn some great strategies from your peers. Card games are also available!
BRACELET MAKING (Thursdays) - Friendship bracelet making is a great way to bond with friends. It's also a great way to show your creativity. Members can get together to learn how to make colorful bracelets of all kinds using online patterns from simple braiding to intricate weaving. Sign up with a friend and share ideas for designs and patterns to make custom best friend bracelets!
LEGO CLUB (Thursdays) - Come have a snack and build awesome Lego creations with some friends!
ACAPELLA GROUP (Mondays) - Join us as we listen to, practice, and maybe even create our own vocal arrangements (all with no instruments!). All skill levels of singers, beatboxers, and spectators/fans/enthusiasts are welcome.
